Just in time for Thanksgiving, we put together a DIY project that’s fun, festive, and (of course) sparkly! Bring some of the gorgeous colors of fall inside to add a touch of glam to your holiday celebration. It’s super easy to make your own Glittery Leaf Garland , and it’s a perfect weekend craft project for the whole family!
What You’ll Need:
Autumn leaves & berries
Clear Acrylic Sealer
Thin paint brushes
Metallic paint
Glitter
Twine, jute, or ribbon
Step 1:
Head outside to collect some gorgeous autumn-colored leaves. We chose a variety of green, yellow, and red leaves, and brought in some bright red berries as an accent.
Step 2:
Find a well-ventilated work space, and lay down newspaper for easy clean-up. Spray each of your leaves with clear acrylic sealer.
Step 3:
Once the leaves have dried, lay each one out on the newspaper/craft paper. Using a thin paintbrush, paint the edges of one leaf with a thick coat of gold metallic paint.
Step 4:
While the paint is still wet, sprinkle glitter over top of the leaf. Let dry.
Step 5:
Repeat with each of the leaves. Once dry, use jute or thin twine to tie each of the leaves and berries together. Use any extra glittery leaves to decorate your table or Thanksgiving dishes!
